Once again, the people in my project area never cease to amaze me. I suggested that some of the ladies get together and start a women's group during my October visit. To my surprise when I returned in February, they presented me with their registered certificate, a bank account number and a proposal for a budget for their first group project. Although the budget needed some work, it is coming along and they are learning how to prepare one fully and properly. The ladies should apply for funding from the Kenya Commerical Bank very soon for a poultry and Sheep keeping project. They are comprised of a group of 25 ladies including both educated and non-educated women. All of them will benefit from this project greatly and we can't wait to see how it takes off.
